SAMURAI – PERPETUAL MOTION [ENG]

PERPETUAL-MOTION

SAMURAI (80 cm x 120 cm) – 2013

[In the private collection of Katherina Keul]

The culture of the Land of the Rising Sun has made a great impact on me. The samurai, the fearless and ruthless, at the same time self-sacrificing warrior represents honesty and loyalty. An idol of manly behaviour, who would opt for death over dishonour in all circumstances. I admire Japanese people (they seem to be on a sort perpetual motion) but I don’t think I could live a life like that.

I dare to say this is the first painting that is ready for 4K! :-)

The painting has been created on canvas by oil and acrylic paint.
